Siliguri serves mainly as a base for tourists to camp in before moving out to explore nearby tourist attractions such as Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Gangtok  and Siliguri itself is a perfectly good holiday destination, with sufficient things to see and do.


The Jaldapara National Park, spread over an area of around 215 kilometres,  is one of the famous park in West Bengal which belongs on the banks of the Torsa river is a prime attraction of Siliguri. It is famous for its impressive population of Royal Bengal Tigers, elephants, one-horned rhinoceros, and various other species of deer. To get the best out of the park, you can go for an elephant ride which is very attractive. And also another wildlife park that nature lovers should consider visiting is the North Bengal Wild Animals Park which spread out over an area of 300 hectors with a wide variety of flora and fauna and also , the Mahanadi Wildlife Sanctuary strictly forbids visitors from feeding the animals at the park.
Mirik is around 50 km from siliguri, most visited places, which is famed for its picturesque beauty, its pristine Sumedu Lake, and its monastery and also Sumedu Lake offers fishing activities and boat rides for tourists, which is a wonderful way to relish the breathtaking view of the hills bordering the lake on all sides.

By train:

Siliguri has three railway stations: New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri Junction and Siliguri Town. These stations connect Siliguri with different places across India. New Jalpaiguri is a 20- to 30-minute ride from the city center.

By bus:

Siliguri Bus Station is located across the street from the Sher-e-Punjab Hotel on Hill Cart Road.There are regular buses to/from Kolkata. The well-known and comfortable Siliguri Rocket, run by the North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC).

Tea:

There are many modern shop selling traditional Indian teas, flavoured teas, Indian oolong, and tea making equipment and accessories of Darjeeling tea for retail and wholesale and you get many international tea wholesaler, specializing in tea-based products sourced from Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiris, and Nepal.
